A ceramic coating is a liquid that bonds to your car's clear coat and cures into a hard, slick, glossy layer. Wax wears off in a month or two and a sealant in a few months. A coating is measured in years, depending on the product and how the car is washed. While it's on, water beads and sheets off, dirt has a harder time sticking, and the car washes clean with less work.
Southern California gives paint plenty to deal with. Cars sit in strong sun most of the year, and UV is what fades and oxidizes paint over time. Near the beach, salt air settles on everything, and bird droppings and tree sap etch into bare clear coat on a hot day. A coating puts a tougher, more chemical-resistant layer between the paint and all of that, and it keeps a dark car looking deep and glossy.
Most of the work is prep. The coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the car is hand washed, decontaminated with an iron remover and a clay bar, and wiped down so the coating bonds to clean, bare clear coat. If the paint has swirl marks or scratches you want gone, that's the time to fix them with paint correction, before the coating goes on.
Ceramic coating starts at $800 for a car or small SUV with paint in good shape. Bigger vehicles and paint that needs correction first are priced on the call, and you get the price before anything starts. The coating has to go on cool paint out of direct sun and stay dry while it cures, so a garage, carport or covered parking spot is ideal.

Years rather than months, depending on the coating and how the car is looked after. Hand washing with a gentle soap and staying out of brush car washes helps it last the longest. Wax, for comparison, wears off in a month or two.
No, and it's worth knowing that before you buy one. A coating is harder and slicker than bare clear coat, so it resists light wash marks, bird droppings, tree sap and UV better than wax. Rock chips and deep scratches are a job for paint protection film or a body shop.
Only if the paint has swirls or scratches you want gone. The coating seals in whatever is underneath it, so if the paint needs work, that's the time to do it. Paint in good shape can be coated after the wash and decontamination.
Yes, as long as there's shade. The coating goes on cool paint out of direct sun and needs to stay dry while it cures, so a garage, carport or covered parking spot is best. Tell us where the car will be when you book.
Hand wash it with a pH-neutral car soap and clean microfiber, and skip automatic washes with brushes. Most coatings need about a week to fully cure before the first wash. The monthly plan keeps a coated car washed the right way.
For a wash, an interior detail or a full detail, yes. Those jobs don't need a building, they need time, the right supplies and attention. What you skip is the drive and the waiting room.
We come once a month on a day that suits you and do a full interior and exterior detail, for $150 a month instead of $250 each time.
